Apple iOS 9.1 update: new iPad Pro-compatible features, emojis

iOS 9 will bring better features to Apple devices. Apple Official

Shortly after introducing a new pair of iPhones, the sizable iPad Pro and a new iteration of the Apple TV, Apple made the iOS 9.1 beta available to developers. In it are a slew of new features compatible with the iPad Pro and whole lot more.

One thing fans look forward to when it comes to iOS updates is the new emoji. Apple has integrated a bunch of new emojis such as a unicorn face, a hot dog, a taco, a burrito, a turkey, popcorn and cheese that will help users express their feelings or get their message across in a more interesting and entertaining way.

Apple iOS 9.1 also has a much more evolved Siri. In iOS 9, the digital assistant is touted to be 40 percent faster and quicker when it comes to giving out results. It should also be able to recognize its "master's" voice. While this already sounds impressive, Apple is taking this up a notch by allowing users to activate the "Hey Siri" function even when the device isn't plugged in.

Lastly, Apple also made sure iOS 9.1 seamlessly runs on the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablet and that users get to maximize its accessories, the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard.

Those registered in Apple's beta testing program were able to download the beta and personally check out these iOS 9.1 features in action ahead of everyone else.

The much-awaited release of the iOS 9 takes place on Sept. 16.
