Users in India who still rock the third-generation Moto G otherwise known as the Moto G 2015 can now adorn their device with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The device seems to be a priority for Motorola when it comes to software updates. The smartphone was actually among the first devices to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Also, not too long ago, Motorola released the update to the Moto X Play. In fact, they are getting the same set of additional upgrades, including the March security update and the Unicode 8.0 emoji support.
An extra tweak that Moto G 2015 users in India can look out for, however, is a new function in the camera, courtesy of Android Marshmallow.
Thanks to the software, the sound of the camera shutter can now be toggled on or off. Double pressing the home button will now launch the camera.
Motorola seems to have tucked in additional tweaks in the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to further improve the performance and stability of the beloved Moto G 2015. All those are packed in a 371.4MB download.
As it is always with over-the-air updates, the software may not immediately show up on the device. In the event it does, make sure the device has enough space for the download.
It is also important to secure a stable Wi-Fi connection for smooth download and installation process. Charging up the phone to at least 50 percent is also a must so as to not interrupt the software switch.
For users who are still waiting for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to land on their Moto G 2015, it is also an option to check the update's availability on the settings of the device.
Just navigate to Settings, then About Phone then System Update. If the software is ready and the device is eligible, it should show up.
