The matriarch of the Brown family in the reality show "Alaskan Bush People" is not giving up that easy, as Ami fights for her life against lung cancer.

Fans of the show's star have significantly increased during her struggle against the disease, and she has gained much-needed support. "People will stop us at red lights on our way in and tell us their whole church is praying for us. I want people to see what a big giant family we feel a part of. The world needs more of that," said the 54-year-old in an interview.

Ami is now going through her second round of chemotherapy. According to Rain, her 14-year-old daughter, they do not know yet how she is doing, but they are hopeful that her condition will improve. They're also grateful for the support that their fans and friends have given them. It is likely that the grave condition her mother has may have contributed to Rain's depression, but she remains positive and strong just as her mother does in her fight against lung cancer.

Ami's discovery of her malady began earlier in the year when she was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. Her family has since moved from Alaska to California in order to provide her with the necessary care for the disease, such as radiation and chemotherapy. Prior to this, Ami had reported difficulty in her everyday tasks, where even the most basic walking from her house to the garden would make her tired. She initially thought that it was just her arthritis.

With the intense treatments and the support she gets from family and friends, Ami's condition does seem to be getting better, as the most recent update between Rain and her mother shows them spending an entire morning making their favorite peach tea and their own essential oils. The oils were a mixture of frankincense, eucalyptus, pink grapefruit, spearmint, and coconut oil.
