The season finale of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did leave a lot of loose ends and with the series coming back for a third season, there are a lot of questions up in the air. One thing that is for sure though, it may no longer be just S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Hydra since the Inhumans could be entering the mix too.
Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) seems to be back at the helm for S.H.I.E.L.D. but Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) seems to be cooking up something, maybe resurrecting the fallen Hydra.
Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) is gone, having been killed bay Cal (Kyle Maclachlan) and Skye (Chloe Bennett) is believed to be the one that will lead the Inhumans (if you got to see that scene with Raina (Ruth Negga) before he got killed by Jiaying.
Curiously, Skye will still be with the team so it should be interesting how this will pan out. Will S.H.I.E.L.D. be aided by the Inhumans on some (or most?) occasions as they go up against new adversaries in the third season. Or will the Inhumans pose a problem for S.H.I.E.L.D. and place Skye in a spot once again?
When season 3 starts, things are expected to be calm especially after the intentions of Jiaying were bared and well neutralized.
What becomes of a one-handed Coulson? Will he be using a mechanical hand of some sort or will he be handicapped somehow like Nick Fury (remember the eye)?
What was Ward organizing? After accidentally killing Agent 33 (Maya Stojan), Ward seems to be in no mood for peace and will be looking for revenge (probably on May (Ming-Na Wen) who technically tricked Agent 33 leading to her being killed by Ward.
Ward is cooking up something and it could be a new Hydra or something else. Whatever it is, you can bet that season 3 could see a more fiendish Ward in tow.
Rumors have it that season 3 will could focus on the Secret Warriors, something based on the comics. According to executive producer Jeffrey Bell, the idea seems to be leaning on a battle of super humans though they are still trying to improvise since this would be hard to create each week.
Whatever Marvel has planned, you can bet that the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. team will be up against new missions against Hydra and a rogue faction of Inhumans.
