Mitsubishi has released more details about its upcoming 2017 Mirage, which features a fresh touch to the exteriors, more appealing interior, and better performance.

According to the press release by the company, the 2017 Mirage may have gone through some tweaks, but there were important things retained — Mirage's fuel efficiency and reasonable price.

"Mirage owners are looking for a vehicle that does its job well and is reliable," Don Swearingen, executive vice president for Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA), said in the press release.

"The Mirage continues to deliver all of those attributes, and the improvements to the 2017 model will expand the Mirage's appeal even more," Swearingan added.

The 2017 Mirage exteriors reveal several changes to its elements such as the bumpers, grilles, hood, rear spoiler, wheels, headlights, and fog lights, which only means that most of the vehicle's exterior appeal has been changed.

Cars.com noted that the fog lights are encircled by black plastic, which then gives wider and stylish look to the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the interior has received some enhancements as well. The car company revamped the seat patterns, the panel surrounding the shifter, the gauge cluster, and steering wheel. The vehicle also boasts of the new 300-watt Rockford-Fosgate audio system.

Another highlight of the upcoming 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage is its compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This is something fresh considering it's the first to arrive in U.S. Mitsubishi models.

As for the engine details, the new Mirage is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with an enhanced horsepower from 74 to 78 and 74 pound-feet of torque. Mitsubishi also revealed that front suspension has become stiffer to produce better handling. Mirage's braking system has also received tweaks.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage arrives in dealerships in spring 2016 and price details have yet to be confirmed. However, Car and Driver speculates that the price is somewhere between $14,000 to 16,000.
