Xbox Games with Gold April free games list: 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag,' 'Terraria' and many more

It's double the fun this April for subscribers of the Xbox Games with Gold program. As previously announced, Microsoft is giving away two free games to Xbox One players while those who get their gaming fix with an Xbox 360 will be snagging four titles on the house.

And now, the wait is over as the free titles for next month are finally revealed.

Cherry Pop Games will be releasing its new pool game called "Pool Nation FX" on Xbox One on April 1. The game will retail at $9.99 but Xbox One owners with Games with Gold subscription can download it for free all throughout April.

While playing some pool and pulling off some trick shots, players can also embark on a quest to find the mysterious Queen of the Night and retrieve the sun, the moon and the stars to put them back in the firmament where they belong. Usually priced at $14.99, the 2014 Ubisoft-developed platforming role-playing video game "Child of Light" will also be available free of charge come April.

Xbox 360 gamers are in for a major treat, too. During the first half of the month, they can fire and shoot their way to freedom as Lieutenant and mechanical connoisseur Damon Baird in the 2013 military science fiction third-person shooter video game "Gears of War: Judgment."

They can also fend off enemies with a pickaxe, a shortsword and an axe in the action-adventure sandbox indie video game "Terraria." Both these games can be downloaded for free from April 1 to 15 so that should save up to $35.

The latter half of the month will bring bigger games. Microsoft is giving away the hit 2013 historical fiction action-adventure open world stealth video game "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" for players to experience 18th century Caribbean in the eyes of notorious pirate Edward Kenway.

Microsoft is also giving Xbox 360 players the chance to relive Alpha and Bravo's missions in the 2013 third-person shooter "Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel." Thanks to Games with Gold, players will have $50 more to share around.
