WWE SummerSlam 2016 predictions: WWE fans eager to see a John Cena vs. AJ Styles dream match

Though it remains unconfirmed, fans say that one of the dream matches at the upcoming SummerSlam 2016 is a rematch between John Cena and AJ Styles.

The recent Money in the Bank match between the two WWE superstars was a hotly contested one, with the match going in favor of AJ Styles. Though the match was already explosive right from the get-go, Styles' high-energy moves clearly dominated Cena in the first half of the match. Meanwhile, although both of them received kickouts from one another, Cena may have had the advantage of at least two Attitude Adjustment finishers, resulting in Styles kicking the referee out of the ring.

However, this was made into an advantage soon enough, since the rest of The Club managed to knock Cena out and placed Styles on top of him just as the referee slid back into the ring for a pin count victory.

Styles winning over Cena was thought of as a surprise by some observers. According to Stadium Astro, the dream match is already 15 years in the making, though the match itself is more crucial to Styles than it is to Cena. However, with the way that the recent Money in the Bank matchup went, it might have made more sense for Styles to have a clean win and without the interruption of The Club's Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Since the matchup is through a "dirty finish," fans are now getting excited for round two for the superstars, and the true, no-holds barred dream match may finally get its spotlight at the SummerSlam. However, it still needs to be confirmed, without last-minute changes, since some followers are keen to match the two up with other competitors. According to What Culture, another possible contender for John Cena is Samoa Joe, while AJ Styles may set his sights on the returning Brock Lesnar.
