The launch of the highly-anticipated video game by Electronic Arts, "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is just around the corner, with a mid-November release looming. It seems that there is a lot of hype surrounding the game, and more news about it is unveiling as the date of its release draws closer. These include speculations regarding the massive campaign to a rumored potential Nintendo Switch release in the future.

In a report by PC Powerplay, the early reports and trailer videos for the single player campaign of "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is something that should be looked at very carefully, especially since previous "Star Wars" single player games have done so well in the past. Players will be taking on the role of Iden Versio, whose expertise is in special operations.

However, the campaign might not be too friendly for those who are into the whole idea of scavenging for better loot, since the game modes' system is quite linear. Fortunately, the story of the single player campaign mode alludes to some important events surrounding the period between "Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens," according to Uproxx.

The story of the game's campaign mode could possibly be Disney's attempt at creating more content for the overall arc of the "Star Wars" canon. This is because Disney had already announced that the expanded universe of the franchise had been scrapped. Gamespot dropped a possible hint regarding the length of the single player campaign mode, and it is now estimated to be at five to eight hours long depending on the skill of the players.

In other news, Destructoid has reported that the game's publishers, Electronic Arts, has not totally scrapped the whole idea of the game arriving to the Nintendo Switch eventually. Producer David Robillard stated that the developers are still weighing the idea of a Nintendo Switch port, which is not a far-fetched idea since a lot of popular games like "Skyrim" and "Fifa 18" have already been made available to the console.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" will be released on Nov. 17.
