'Resident Evil 7' release date at E3 2015?

As game giant Capcom updates its list of surprise titles to be detailed at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo, fans are wondering if a new "Resident Evil" title is among them.

Rumors about the next installment in the highly successful "Resident Evil" franchise started with a data report from digital gaming analysis company Superdata. According to industry observer Attack of the Fanboy, Superdata surmises that the next in the series, "Resident Evil 7," might be coming out later this year. In their own white paper, Superdata wrote that, following a regular seasonal pattern, the downturn for the first part of the year in the gaming industry will get a boost, as the latter half of the year signifies the release of some of the most anticipated titles in big name franchises like "Halo" and "Resident Evil."

Most recently, Capcom has announced the description list for their announcements at the upcoming E3 2015 event, to be held from June 16 to 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. The convention is a showcase of companies in the electronic entertainment industry, particularly the gaming one. Publishers and developers both flock to the annual E3 event to announce details and tease fans of their upcoming releases.

This year, Capcom will be bringing to the E3 several action, adventure, and fighting/wrestling titles for the PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. Capcom fanatics are arguing that since it has already been reported for a 2015 release, and since the franchise is also one of the biggest game titles for the company, the studio will be unveiling details about the upcoming "Resident Evil 7."

However, since there are still no detailed information other than vague descriptions, some observers say that instead of a new "Resident Evil" title, Capcom might use the E3 event to unveil "Devil May Cry 4: Enhanced Edition," as the title is scheduled to be released on June 18.
