There is understandably a lot of excitement for the upcoming latest "Resident Evil" video game "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" as it will apparently feature a lot of firsts for the franchise.

Reports have now revealed that apart from being the first installment in the long-running post-apocalyptic zombie video game franchise to be played in a first-person perspective, the game will apparently also be the first to feature a full virtual reality mode.

The upcoming eleventh main entry in the "Resident Evil" series had previously been announced to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for Windows PC, but it seems like the game's VR mode will only be exclusively released for the PlayStation VR for a set amount of time. This is according to a recently discovered promo poster for the game which mentioned that the game will be "exclusive to the PlayStation VR for 12 months." The notice itself was spotted at the bottom of the Facebook advert that was originally spotted by a Reddit user.

Based on the note on the poster, Sony might have bagged a deal with the game's publisher — Capcom — to have the game's VR mode exclusive to their Virtual Reality platform for an entire year after its launch. This would certainly boost the desirability of the PlayStation VR as gamers on the Xbox One and PC would only be able to play the game's "vanilla" version.

Some reports have also pointed out that the exclusivity period will likely be ending at roughly the same time as Microsoft's launch of their new Xbox Scorpio console. It is highly speculated that the new console would have VR capabilities as well, which means that "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" and its VR mode might be released on the console when it is launched.

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is scheduled to be released worldwide on January 24, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for Windows PC.
