Once Upon a Time Season 5 release date, plot spoilers: Who will be the savior for Emma Swan?

After saving Regina from darkness at her expense, Emma Swan now finds herself in the darkside.

In the season 4 finale, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) used the dagger to consumer her but not before admitting to Hook that she loves him. Before being consumed, Emma tells Hook that she is not losing hope in him and believes that Hook and her parents will one day find a way to save her.

From that finale, it seems that Hook and Henry will be looking for someone who will help them bring back Emma. And that person is reportedly Merlin, the sorcerer.

With that said, it looks like Merlin will play a major role in season 5 but Hook and the rest will have to find him first.

Rumors suggest that Merlin will most likely be found in Camelot which may likely point to an all-new journey for the cast. Merlin will be a "Black Brit" who is in his 30s or 40s.

As the fictional character, Merlin will be intelligent and filled with wisdom as Hook tries to seek his aid in bringing back Emma from the dark side.

But before all that, rumors may be somehow indicating that the season 5 setting would generally be in the medieval Camelot era.

So when you think of the Merlin character, could other knights be far behind? King Arthur and Guinevere come into mind. With their impending addition, who could be taking on the roles of the popular fictional characters?

Another thing to look forward to is that season 5 of Once Upon a Time may be brining in the worst Big Bad thus far. Will a Dark Emma be that bad? How long will it take for Hook and the rest to get Merlin and bring back Emma from the dark side?

Once Upon a Time Season 5 premieres on September 27, 2015.
