It is not often people see sports brands team up with gaming brands, but that is not the case now. Nike has apparently made and just recently revealed a pair of PlayStation-themed sneakers courtesy of Oklahoma City Thunder superstar, Paul George. The shoes are a limited edition too.

For either basketball and PlayStation fans, this shoe may seem weird, but there are always fans of both that would want to get the shoes. George himself even admits that he was a huge fan of PlayStation during the time of the PlayStation 2 (PS2), and of course, of basketball. Besides, for many who think the idea of the shoe is quite "nerdy," people cannot deny that it still looks sleek.

In the official announcement blog of Nike, the basketball star shares one of his fondest memories of the console. "Just like basketball, I've had a knack for video games since I was a kid. When I was 8 or 9, I used to amaze my uncle and all his friends by consistently beating them in all the sports games we'd play," writes George.

"And if I saw something cool while I was playing, I'd go outside and try it out on the court or the field. So in a way, sports and video games were always feeding off one another to me," he concluded.

George even mentions that he has been wanting this sort of partnership happen also saying that he has made sketches of PlayStation-inspired Nike shoe.

Fans of the PlayStation will easily notice how the shoe is inspired by the console's colors. The colorway itself even lights up. For those who haven't recognized the design, this new limited edition release is actually a variation of George's own franchise of Nike shoes, the PG-2.

The Nike PG-2 PlayStation Colorway is coming out on Feb. 10, 2018. No price was mentioned in the blog post, but more information can be seen in the Nike SNKRS app.
