New Church Army website shows off transformational work

Church Army's new look website 'Church Army ONLINE' launched today, allowing users to discover more about the work of Church Army evangelists and projects through over 50 short films.

The site also launches a contemporary strap line of Faith Words Action to describe the work of Church Army - a variation from the more familiar sharing faith through words and action that has been in use for the last couple of decades.

The new site is phase one of a redevelopment of Church Army's online services which will eventually include developing a new online blogging community and linking in with partner organisations such as rejesus - the leading home on the internet for all things about Jesus.

Church Army said the emphasis was on clearer navigation, a contemporary fresh look and more film-based story telling through a range of films which local churches can download for their own use. This new streamlined website provides quick links to resources on mission and evangelism, as well as highlighting the work Church Army is doing alongside a wide range of partner organisations and projects.

Church Army's Chief Executive, Mark Russell urges Christians to join him to help "make Jesus famous" by doing what they can to share faith through words and action and help people to come to a living faith in Jesus Christ.

The films represent just a fraction of the work which Church Army's President Archbishop Desmond Tutu described as vital and impressive.

Church Army has been in existence since 1882, showing ordinary men, women and children that, whatever they are feeling and however desperate their circumstances appear to be, God has not given up on them and there is hope. The organisation said it hoped Church Army ONLINE would reflect that purpose.

Captain Neil Thomson, Church Army's Online Services Manager, says, "Church Army is committed to proclaiming the Good News of Jesus' love in ways that are appropriate and accessible to people.

"This website shows what many of our evangelists are doing to transform lives where the Christian faith is helping them live life to the full."
