In the next episode of "NCIS," Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), and the rest of the team investigate a hit and run.

The trailer and promotional photos for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Family Ties," were just released recently, and they show Torres, McGee, Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham), and Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) at the scene of the hit and run where a dead is found.

They survey the grounds for any clues that may lead them towards the direction of the perpetrator. It seems that there is a kid by the name of April Brinson (Genevieve Bell) who witnessed the unfortunate event. Torres and McGee are tasked to question the kid about the incident. In the meantime, Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) analyzes the corpse to see if there are any other marks on the body.

Torres and McGee visit the home of the high school kid to ask her some questions. For the most part, she is cooperative and helps the cops piece together the timeline of the incident. The agents leave the home and head back to headquarters to report their findings. However, Gibbs finds out later that April's parents Christopher (Jamie Kaler) and Julie (Gabrielle Carteris) fled with their daughter after her interrogation. This catches the team by surprise, and they immediately go after the fugitive family.

In the last episode, the team investigated the death of Navy Lieutenant Melissa Newhall (Kaitlyn Black) which turned out to be a suicide. Apparently, she had been living another life as a dominatrix, which was going to be exposed. She was too scared of the repercussions that she hanged herself instead to escape any scrutiny from the military.

"NCIS" season 15 episode 13 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
