LG G4 release date, specs rumors: Aluminum body, 3GHz processor, and G Pen

The LG G4 has the Internet buzzing and, although a rollout date for the purported device is yet to be confirmed by the handset's maker itself, the rumor mill has already extracted hefty details about it.

The future smartphone is expected to come with a 5.7-inch HD IPS/LCD display, delivering a rich resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The LG G4 is rumored to sport an aluminum-clad body, with media outlets believing that it will be pitted against the aluminum-caked Galaxy A lineup by big rival Samsung.

Under the hood, LG could slot in either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 805 or 808 processor, which will be clocked in at an intimidating 3 GHz. The LG G4 will surely be a powerful device should the rumors about the inclusion of 3 or 4 GB RAM and 32 or 64 GB storage memory come to pass. Never forget the addition of the microSD slot, which will scale the memory size to 128 GB. Phandroid, as echoed by IB Times, says that the device will come with a G pen, similar to that of Samsung's S pen.

For the camera fix, the handset will reportedly get a decent 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter paired with a 5.1-megapixel selfie snapper. However, IB Times says, with REM as source, it will get a 15- to 17-megapixel primary camera and a 3- to 4-megapixel front-facing shooter. I Know Today revealed that the LG G4 will get an HSPA, 4G, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity options. Lastly, LG's choice of battery will be between 3500 and 4000 mAh. Whichever it will go, the LG G4 will definitely outlast those in the smartphone field.

As for the pricing, users can look forward to a $650 to $700 price tag. Reports indicate that the LG G4 will put in an appearance by early summer next year, somewhere around May if LG follows its release pattern for the LG G3 and LG G Pro. While the still-intangible device seems to be establishing an image in the showground already, nothing is set in stone at the moment.
