Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) may not be over Callie (Sara Ramirez), no matter how happy she looks for her ex-wife who now has a new relationship in "Grey's Anatomy" season 12.
According to International Business Times, although details for the show's upcoming ninth episode next year are still being kept under wraps, it will reportedly reveal the blonde head of Pediatric Surgery's real thoughts when it comes to Callie and Penny's (Samantha Sloyan) affair. Previously, Callie introduced Penny to all of her doctor friends at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital during Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) party.
While Arizona appeared delighted at that time, many speculated that the relationship was still hurting her, more so after she found it difficult to find a new love. Arizona had already asked Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.) to act as her wingman in the previous episode. However, the woman that she wanted to ask out on a date with turned out to be in a relationship with someone else. While Callie appeared to be enjoying Penny's company, Arizona still has not met someone who could fill in the void that Callie left.
Although Callie was obviously enamored with her new girlfriend, not everyone was happy with the latter. As a recently transferred resident in the hospital, Penny was assigned to learn under Meredith, the wife of the doctor she failed to save in the past. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) died after Penny failed to put forward a medical procedure that could have saved his life. Although she apologized many times to Meredith, and the latter appeared to have forgiven her, the people surrounding them could not understand the situation.
Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) was especially antagonistic toward Penny and this led to several fights with Meredith. The younger Sloan was not averse to showing how much she hated Penny being at the hospital. In one instance, she even shouted at her for intruding at a private conversation between the sisters. Will Penny eventually be accepted by her other colleagues?
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will return on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
