'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewed or cancelled? Rowan Blanchard unsure of series' future

 Disney

"Girl Meets World" season 3 is going to end with a big celebration as the finale episode will be a big reunion for the "Boy Meets World" cast, making it a big ensemble episode. However, fans have speculated this means the series is ending and actress Rowan Blanchard has stated in an interview with She Knows that even she is unsure if season 4 is happening.

At the moment Blanchard is as aware of season 4 as the rest of the world, indicating that the showrunners, producers and writers have yet to announce to the cast if they will be coming back for season 4 or if the season 3 finale was officially the end of the show.

"We are hoping for a season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," Blanchard explained. "But as of right now, we just finished filming season 3 and we're still waiting on the word. But we do have more episodes coming out this year that air into early 2017, so we're covered for a little bit."

Blanchard then explained that a show such as "Girl Meets World" was very important because it was something young girls could latch onto and pick something good from.

She notes young women experience difficulty growing up due to the expectations of other people and even when those expectations are met there are still people to critique a woman. "Girl Meets World" shines because it showcases how a girl can face those problems.

The report also points out that there are rumors emerging Disney is indeed cancelling the show after three seasons but a fourth season may be picked up on Freeform. This is not the first time a series had jumped networks to continue on. Netflix in particularly is popular for reviving cancelled shows such as "Longmire" and "Gilmore Girls."
