'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' DLC rumors: when can we expect Map Packs to release?

 Call of Duty's official website

Many gamers are eagerly awaiting the availability of the next downloadable content for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III." The absence of an official announcement after the release of the first DLC map pack has not deterred fans from trying to gain information on when the next ones will roll out.

Video Games Blogger came up with the probable release schedule for the upcoming map packs. The list, although neither final nor official, says that DLC Map Pack #2 for the PlayStation 4 might come out on April 5, DLC Map Pack #3 on June 7, and DLC Map Pack #4 on Aug. 9. For Xbox One and PC, the second is speculated to roll on out on May 5, the third on July 7, and the fourth on Sept. 8.

The first map pack, titled "Awakening," was made available for the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 2 and for the Xbox One and PC on March 3. It contains four maps, namely Gauntlet, Rise, Splash, and Skyjacked -- a remake of an old map called Hijacked -- as well as other content.

The second map pack is said to be titled "Ignition," and GottaBeMobile surmises that it could include three new maps, as well as a reimagined one, if game developer Treyarch follows the same format they used in "Awakening." There are reportedly requests to reintroduce the Raid Black Ops 3 map, although there is no official word if this will come to pass.

Four DLC map packs are included in the season pass for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," and are all expected to come out this year. As described in the product listing on GameStop: "The Call of Duty: Black Ops III Season Pass delivers 4 epic DLC map packs in 2016 with all-new multiplayer content, including re-imagined fan-favorite maps from Call of Duty: World at War and the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, plus thrilling Treyarch Zombies content, all for one great price."
