Beyoncé is now the owner of a church in New Orleans. The property is a massive stone structure that's over 100 years old.

The church has apparently not been used in a long time because most of its members have passed away, according to TMZ. The 7,500 square foot site had been listed for $850,000 but it's unclear how much Beyoncé paid for the real estate investment.

The property, which stands in New Orleans' Garden District, could potentially be redeveloped as another church, or for commercial use, or as a family home, according to its listing.

Beyoncé's representatives have not made any comments on what the Grammy-winning star plans to do with her purchase, according to Fox News. The outlet also reported that Beyonce's sister, Solange, has a house near the church.

The news comes just a month after a church in San Francisco held a special mass that centered on Beyoncé's music, videos and influence as an artist and a successful African-American woman. Grace Cathedral Church accommodated hundreds of members from The Vine San Francisco, which included people of various races and the LGBTQ community, as they worshipped God while singing Beyonce's hits.

The event, however, drew criticism online with its mix of secularism and Christian practices. Reverend Jude Harmon defended the decision to hold a Beyoncé mass during the service.

"We have a community that is youthful and loving and looks to the world as a partner, not an enemy," the reverend said. "Just to be honest, the church hasn't been the best about lifting up those voices."

Rev. Harmon also said that Beyoncé might be a more effective theologian compared to actual evangelicals.

Rev. Yolanda Norton preached at the mass. She teaches a "Beyoncé and the Hebrew Bible" class at the San Francisco Theology Seminary. Like Harmon, Norton defended the church's decision and stated that Jesus also provoked people's consciousness.

"We're following in the way of Jesus," Norton said, as per Fox News.
