Well-known ice cream company Ben & Jerry's is not one to shy away from unique ice cream flavours.

But founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield recently raised some eyebrows after they hinted that they are open to producing cannabis-infused ice cream should the drug be legalised.

"Makes sense to me," Cohen told HuffPost. "Combine your pleasures."

Greenfield was a little more reserved in his answer, saying that he would love to do it if the decision-making process was entirely up to him and Cohen.

"Ben and I have had previous experiences with substances, and I think legalising marijuana is a wonderful thing," he said. "It's not my decision. If it were my decision, I'd be doing it, but fortunately we have wiser heads at the company that figure those things out."

Greenfield laughingly shared how he and Cohen are just the "pretty faces" of the company since they don't do any mental weightlifting for Ben & Jerry's. "Even that's a little bit of a stretch," he joked.

The two also made the news recently by appearing in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. They celebrated Fallon's first full season as host of the show by creating "The Tonight Dough," an extra-chunky concoction that combines chocolate and caramel ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough and a crunchy chocolate cookie swirl.

Eric Fredette, flavour guru and creator of The Tonight Dough described the flavour as "chock full of the stuff people love... It's simply over the top!"

Fallon was over the moon with his special ice cream flavour, and even committed to donate all proceeds from the sales of The Tonight Dough to the non-profit organisation SeriousFun Children's Network.

The organisation helps children with serious illnesses and their families with life-changing experiences at camp, which boosts their confidence, independence, and resilience.
