At the San Diego Comic-Con, fans of Batman and Superman got pretty excited when the trailer for "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice was shown." But of course, the spoilers were kept at a minimum.

Now, there are rumors swirling around Batman's story arc. According to Badass Digest, Ben Affleck's character will appear in the movie around the age of 50 years old. Moreover, in the "Man of Steel" sequel, no one knows about Batman, his existence and his crime-fighting ways. He is considered an urban legend.

Going back to the older Batman, what further proved the news was Samuel Oten's tweet. Apparently, he had taken a photo of Affleck on the set of the movie and Affleck was surprisingly sporting some grey streaks on the side of his hair.

This is a newer version of Batman. Then again, it might have something to do that he is older too. According to Badass Digest, Batman will now be a silent operator and will no longer be involved in face-to-face battles with criminals. Nonetheless, he is still doing his job in the background, particularly, in the batcave. Screenrant reports that Batman will be commanding an army of crime-fighting bat robots to do the fighting for him.

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara dropped a telling hint too. He said that Batman will be "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile." This actually supports the theory that Batman has already existed for 30 years coming into this move.

Also according to Screenrant, the new movie "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be inspired by Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" finale. If this is true, the Justice League, including Batman, have already retired.
