News about the official release date of "Attack on Titan" season 2 is still scarce at the moment, but it seems that the hit TV adaptation of the equally popular manga series will not be aired anytime soon.

However, Capcom revealed during the recently concluded Japan Amusement Expo that the first ever arcade game based on Hajime Isayama's dark fantasy masterpiece will be released ahead of the second season of the manga. At this point, there is limited information given about the game aside from the title card that shows the Capcom logo that is encircled by flames. The game seems to be in its very early stages of development, but the developer claims that more details about it will be released sometime in summer.

Meanwhile, the second film compilation of "Attack on Titan" will be released in cinemas on June 27. The film will feature the second half of the first season. The second film will reportedly feature the new challenges that Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Levi have to face in order to defeat the Titans, flesh-eating monsters that try to inhabit Earth. It follows the first film that was released back on Nov. 22, which showed the first part of "Attack on Titan" season 1.

To appease fans who are eagerly waiting for the upcoming second installment of "Attack on Titan," a few spin-off comics and publications were released, while the Univesal Studios theme park in Japan features "Attack on Titan" attractions.

If "Attack on Titan" season 2 will be released on TV in 2016, then U.S.-based fans might still have to wait for another year to catch the version dubbed in English, just like the first one. The English dubbed version is normally completed after the Japanese version has been aired.

More details are expected about "Attack on Titan" in the near future before the second film compilation and the live action movie are released later this year.
