Apple X news: Users complain about 'green line of death' on smartphone's display

After dealing with iOS 11.1 bugs, Apple is now faced with another problem concerning their latest smartphone product, iPhone X. There were several complaints from Apple users about a bright green line appearing on either side of the smartphone. Many people are now calling it the "green line of death."

After the release of the iPhone X on Nov. 3, Apple Support dealt with complaints about the latest operating system. Just recently, several individuals raised the issue of the green line and are seeking an explanation from the tech giant.

According to Mac Rumors, the cause of the green line is a potential hardware defect. The display specifications of the X comes with HDR display and a wide color display.

Most of the complaints are coming from disappointed customers given that the price of the product is $999. One user tweeted, "My new #iPhoneX appears a green line on the screen, and the faceID can't recognize me when I with glasses."

According to TechCrunch, the issue originates from the display's new diamond subpixel pattern's green subpixels.

Apple has yet to make a statement on the issue and their strategy to remedy the situation. There is also no word from the company if the products affected by the defect will be replaced by new ones.

Other than the green line, short battery life and autocorrect glitch, some users are also complaining about a static noise coming from their earpiece speaker. The issue with the noise was raised with the iPhone 8 in September. However, some iPhone X users are now reporting the same problem.

The iOS 11.2 beta 2 version is now available. However, there is still no official date of release for the updated operating system. There is also no announcement from Apple if the new operating system fixes all of the mentioned bugs and hardware issues.
