It seems Patrick Wilson ("The Conjuring," "Insidious") just can't get enough of "Watchmen," as the actor expressed enthusiasm in wanting to reprise his role as Nite Owl in the upcoming "Watchmen" TV adaptation from HBO.

"It was such a joy shooting [2009's 'Watchmen']. I wanted there to be more of them," claimed Wilson, referring to Zack Snyder's film adaptation for Alan Moore's 1986 graphic novel of the same name. That said, fans of both Wilson and Nite Owl may want to hold their breaths, as HBO has not contacted the 44-year-old actor yet for the role.

"There's never been one conversation. I'm sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible, but I love Damon Lindelof. I'm so excited to see what they will do. I'd love to play [Nite Owl] now but no there's been no talk, I'm just a fan like you are," said Wilson. This means that HBO may or may not be considering him for the role again despite him being in his mid-forties now, which is quite perfect for the character compared to the 2009 version of Wilson.

It is also important to note that there has not been any casting call or announcement from HBO at the moment, which could indicate that there are no cast members yet, and consequently, no filming is taking place for the moment. However, the showrunners hinted that production may start sometime this year, meaning casting choices may soon be publicized.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Nite Owl is one of the staple members of the Watchmen, both in the graphic novel and in the movie. His alter ego is Dan Dreiberg and was portrayed as an overweight middle-aged man who is well past is prime at the time of the "Watchmen" graphic novel which was set in 1986. Before this though, Nite Owl had quite a successful stint as a vigilante where he teamed up with the eccentric and psychopathic vigilante Rorschach in order to take down some of the established universe's biggest crime figures.

It remains to be seen whether Wilson will be chosen again as Nite Owl, though some sources believe that he is too handsome still as Dan Dreiberg or Nite Owl.
