The fun, excitement and action brought by the fourth season of historical drama "Vikings" to its viewers were cut short in April when History Channel decided to go on a lengthy hiatus and air the 10 remaining episodes in the fall.
Well, eager fans of the epic drama will be happy to know that the filming of the second half of "Vikings" Season 4 has already started, as reported by the International Business Times.
Luckily, loyal viewers of the show need not wait for promotional teasers to catch a glimpse of what's in store for the remaining episodes of the current season of the epic drama. Some "Vikings" stars have generously posted photos on their social media accounts while they are taping the new episodes.
One thing stands out among the photos shared by some of the "Vikings" stars: the second half of the show's eleventh season is looking bloodier than before.
Alex Anderson, who plays the role of Ivar in the series, for instance, posted a video on Instagram showing his new, Nordic look, complete with a braid and what appear to be bruises on his cheek.
"My hairstylist, Dee [Corcoran], is an absolute magician," Anderson said in the caption of his Instagram video.
Jasper Pääkkönen, who portrays Halfdan the Black, meanwhile shared on Instagram a photo of him and Peter Franzen, who plays King Harald Finehair, covered in blood and dirt. The two actors appear to have bloody cuts all over their faces.
Similarly, Marco Ilsø, who has taken on the role of Hvitserk in the Michael Hirst-created series, shared photos of blood-stained props on the set of "Vikings" Season 4.
In the picture he posted on his Instagram account, fake blood is very obvious in a sword and armor used in taping scenes in the second half of the show's fourth season.
