'The Flash' season 2 premiere spoilers: Harrison Wells to return; time travel to be key in future episodes

The different timelines used in "The Flash" season 1 are apparently a key towards future episodes and seasons so don't completely write off characters who may have been killed at some point.

The first character that comes to mind would be Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) who, as everyone knows, is also the speedster in the yellow suit (Reverse Flash aka Eobard Thawne). Viewer saw Wells cut in the season finale but thanks to the multiple timelines used, Cavanagh will still be around to play the role of Wells or Thawne.

Executive producer Gabrielle Stanton confirmed this via TVLine, saying, "Harrison Wells will be back, but he's going to be a very different Harrison Wells than we've seen beforeā€¦ We've got other worlds. We've got other timelines. All I'm going to say is he's from one of those places."

So with that out of the way, season 2 of "The Flash" should offer more twists and interesting stories once it premieres on Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. EST or 7 p.m. CST.

Apparently time travel will play a vital role in the coming season where "other worlds" are likely to be the focus. Could Harrison Wells end up being a good guy rather than the controversial villain in alternate worlds? How about Jay Garrick becoming the Flash instead of Barry Allen?

There is also the possibility that Thawne never assumed the identity of Wells in one of the worlds, meaning that the settings would be jumbled all the more.

Anything is possible, thanks to the so-called multi-verse which should provide the people behind the series flexibility as far as coming up with interesting storylines.

Whatever the guys over at CW have planned will be known this fall as "The Flash" tries to continue it successful run in season 2.
