Back in May fans got their first glimpse of actor Andy Serkis doing performance capture for the character Supreme Leader Snoke for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens." A new report from MakingStarWars now states that Snoke is not even human and instead appears reptilian, with a face similar to a cobra. 

MakingStarWars editor-in-chief Jason Ward reportedly has seen concept art of Snoke which is most likely going to be the basis of the character's final design in the film. It is important to note that there may be several changes due to the transition from paper to computer software to film. 

According to the report, the concept art shows Snoke wearing a black kimono with an outer robe. There is an off-white robe underneath it and is described to look very Japanese in nature. Snoke also wears wrappings around his waist and a flowing robe or skirt below. The collar is also unique, going from the collar bone to the chin. 

The most striking feature, though, is Snoke's face which is said to look similar to a snake. Ward described the shape of the head to be like that of a cobra, with reptilian eyes, and bulbous mouth. Ward could not decipher how tall the character was based on the artwork he had seen.

The report also reiterates that this is merely concept art and it may not be the final design used in the film. What is sure is that Supreme Leader Snoke is not human because if he was, then the studios would ask Serkis to act live on camera instead of through performance capture technology.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on Dec. 18.
