"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues to dominate the box office. And fans are already looking forward to its sequel, "Star Wars: Episode 8," which they believe would answer their biggest questions about the latest film in the franchise.

In a big twist in the film, Han Solo was killed by his son Ben Solo. Ben went to the Dark Side and called himself Kylo Ren. Fans are mourning about the thought that they may have seen the last of the wise-cracking smuggler turned hero.

After being stabbed with Kylo Ren's lightsaber, Han fell into the bottom of the Starkiller Base, which was later blown up by the Rebels who successfully hit the vulnerable portion of the humongous evil headquarters. It felt like that was the end of Han Solo.

However, all hope is not lost, if a statement by "Star Wars" producer Kathleen Kennedy is any indication. During the premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in London, Kennedy revealed who fans can expect to see in "Star Wars: Episode 8."

"There will be a handful of new cast members in 'Episode 8' but also all the cast members you see here tonight will be in it as well," Kennedy stated, as quoted by Independent. Harrison Ford aka Han Solo stood behind her as she uttered these words.

Some say that Kennedy is just avoiding spoiling things for those who haven't watched "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" that is why she opted to generalize. However, even the casting call by Disney hints that Ford will reprise his role in "Star Wars: Episode 8."

While it looks like Han Solo will return, it does not mean that he will be resurrected. BGR believes that the beloved character might appear in the form of flashbacks in the upcoming film as fans learn more about Kylo Ren's past.

It is expected that the new villain's history will be further explored in the upcoming "Star Wars" movie. Fans expect to see what turned him to the Dark Side and what he was like when he called himself Ben Solo as he learned the ways of the Force with Luke Skywalker as mentor.

Han Solo and General Leia will factor hugely in telling that story. The reason why they were apart, as seen in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," may even be explored in "Star Wars: Episode 8," which is slated to hit the big screen in May 2017.
