Sanctus Real escape unhurt from tour bus blaze

Sanctus Real and their tour crew managed to escape unharmed before a fire engulfed their tour bus in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Several of the band's family members were also on the bus when the fire broke out along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

They had been travelling back from a performance in Mitchellville, Maryland, to their homes in Ohio and Tennessee when the bus driver saw flames in his side view mirror.

He quickly stopped the bus and got everyone off. They left their belongings behind, not realising how severe the fire was.

The flames destroyed the entire bus and everything left onboard, including laptops, cellphones and wallets.

The trailer being towed behind the bus remained in tact with the least amount of damage, but the band will find out later this week if any of their equipment suffered any damage.

Band member Dan Gartley is still in Pennsylvania going through the wreckage along with the crew, while the rest of the band have travelled on to their homes.

The band will continue to perform their scheduled shows, beginning this weekend in Atlanta with The FISH Radio and at a performance at Lake Lanier Islands Resort, just outside of Atlanta.
