South Korean giant Samsung Electronics Co., has announced its new Galaxy Tab S2 tablet this month and is now preparing to release the device in August, according to recent reports.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the successor to the Galaxy Tab S that was released last year in July.

Since the launch of the new tablet is fast approaching, here's what to expect from the device in terms of the specifications and improvements it has over its predecessor.

Similar to last year's Galaxy Tab S device, the new Tab S2 is expected to be available in two models; but unlike its predecessor, it is expected to come in different sizes. The previous tablets came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors, 3GB RAM, and up to 32GB internal memory space. According to GSM Arena, there are two other versions of last year's Tab S that came with Samsung's own Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor, but without any cellular connectivity compatibility.

The Galaxy Tab S2 tablets have the Exynos 5433 processors, 3GB RAM as well, and up to 64GB memory capacity. The 8-inch model has a 4000 mAh battery, while the 9.7-inch model has a larger 5870 mAh battery. The Galaxy Tab S came with 4900 mAh battery and the larger version came with a whopping 7900 mAh battery.

In addition, all these models come with built-in fingerprint scanners for advanced security.
