In the San Diego Comic Con, Creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland of "Rick and Morty" introduced the trailer for the third installment of animated science fiction show.

At the panel, they announced will travel a more serialized path of storytelling compared to the first two seasons where every episode introduced a new and separate adventure.

Creators were unsure if they will continue an "Interdimensional Cable" story line where the main characters watch commercials and react on them.

"We're literally deciding whether or not to do 'Interdimensional Cable 3', Roland said, which made the audience cheer. "So that's the 'yes we want it,' now can we hear from those who are like 'nah, can we see something else,' anybody?" he asked.

In another interview by Slashfilm, Roiland was asked the same question where he answered, "Possibly, yeah, we're figuring it out. It's very rough on production. It's not an easy episode to make. We're introducing something amazing we can't say much about, but there's probably room for both, ultimately. I'd be down to do it.The connective tissue has to be different and Ridley's got a really good pitch that [Harmon] hasn't heard yet so we're not going to talk about it here. It's spoiler alert territory."

With this viewers can expect tidbits of distorted universes through the interdimensional cable and enjoy skits and quips of the Smith family.

Season 3 may also bring back the Meeseeks who helped the family back in season 1 but would later became disastrous. Harmon said that the Meeseeks could return as background characters.

He said, "However, we can also do an episode where it's not about that as a topic and just have him like Dr. Seuss, use him as a tool. As long as it tracks for a first time viewer, oh, I guess that's some kind of guy that says, 'I'm Mr. Meeseeks' and does his thing. You have to serve those masters I guess. What if a brand new person is watching the show that's never heard of it? Are they going to be able to understand what's going on,"

"Rick and Morty Season 3" will premiere in late 2016 on Adult Swim.
