LG G4 release date and specs rumors: 5.3-inch screen and thinnest bezels?

Facebook

Latest rumors claimed that the upcoming LG G4 will come with a 5.3 inch screen display yielded by thinner bezels.

It seemed that LG Electronics will decrease the bezels around the screen panel of the successor of LG G3. The bezels of LG G4 are reported to be less than a millimeter. With this, it will eliminate the usual frame packed in previous versions.

Decreasing the bezels is one way of enlarging the screen without increasing the overall size of the handset.

However, it seemed that this report is a hoax since the current LG G3 sports a 5.5 inches screen display and it has been a trend to increase the size of the screen panel and not decrease it.

On the other hand, reports added that LG G4's new screen will be dustproof and water-resistant.

Other rumors claimed that LG G4's screen will be strengthened by Sapphire material, which will give the smartphone a big advantage over its rivals like Apple's iPhone that are currently under fire due to brittle screens.

Apart from bigger screen display, LG G4 is speculated to pack LG's home grown mobile processor. LG Electronics seemed to be following the footsteps of its rival Samsung and recently announced its own processor, Nuclun. The processor is reported to be an octa-core processor with LTE-A Cat.6 network capabilities that will enable 4G speeds up to 300mbps.

Both LG G3 and LG G2 are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. The LG G3 is equipped by a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset. LG G2 sports a Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.2GHz.

According to rumors, LG G4 release date will be in May 2015 based on the previous launch of its predecessor LG G3. LG G2 was released in summer of 2013, but it seemed that the company learned release its device earlier to counter its rivals from Samsung, HTC and Sony.

However, LG Electronics has not commented yet on the rumors surrounding its devices.
