Phablet is still a thing, apparently, as Lenovo just announced two of its big phones — Phab and Phab Plus.

The two new devices were unveiled last Wednesday in Berlin, according to Lenovo news.

Lenovo Phab is the lower-end mobile device of the two and it has a 7-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution.

The phone/tablet runs on a 64-bit quad-core chip and 1 GB RAM and powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has a 16 GB internal storage capacity expandable to up to 64 GB with its microSD slot.

Other specs include a 4,250 mAh battery, a dual-microSIM slot, and Bluetooth 4.0. It is also capable of connecting to 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE). All these specs are crammed inside a device that is 8.9 millimeters in thickness and weighs 250 grams.

As for Phab's camera, it features a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel snappers for the rear and front, respectively.

On the other hand, the higher-end variant of the phablet, the Phab Plus, ironically carries a smaller screen display measuring at 6.8 inches with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It runs on a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, also expandable to up to 64 GB.

The phablet is also powered by the same Android OS as the Phab. Phab Plus' camera specs are similar to that of the lower-end device, but it has a smaller battery at 3,500 mAh.

Lenovo Phab Plus comes in platinum and gunmetal variants and will cost $299. On the other hand, Lenovo Phab comes in varying colors — red, blue, black, and white. It will also be a lot cheaper sold at $179 when it becomes available.

According to the release from Lenovo, their new phablets should bridge the gap between expensive, wide-screened phones and unimpressive small tablets. The devices should offer top quality entertainment, high-speed internet, and a powerful battery great for all-day usage.

There's no announcement on the specific release date for Lenovo Phab and Phab Plus but according to Android Police, they should be available anytime this September.
