'Kingdom Hearts 3' rumors, release date: Development going smoothly, game to be linked to a distant past?

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of the games unwaveringly demanded by gamers. It is the title players want to see. Part of it is because the upcoming game carries on the legacy of its celebrated long-running franchise.

The overwhelming excitement is also due to the fact that Square Enix rarely spills details, even just a morsel, about the highly-anticipated game. The game studio resorts to trickling details away, keeping the hype constant and massive.

The Disney-themed action role-playing game is already up for pre-order in Amazon, which lists the game for release before the year ends. However, there are speculations stating that the title will not see the light of day until next year.

For now, the closest thing fans will get to the game is its alleged showing at the D23 expo in Japan in November. PC Advisor says that the much-awaited title will be showcased in the event although this has yet to be confirmed by Square Enix itself.

It is an immense challenge for the developers to put the game together. They went through several delays as they had to work on "Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix" and they had to switch to Unreal Engine 4 in crafting the title.

Square Enix is currently working very hard and that development, according to game developer Tetsuya Nomura, is going smoothly. Despite that though, media outlets are one in saying that the year will end with still no "Kingdom Hearts 3."

On the other hand, iDigital Times reported that "Kingdom Hearts Unchained X," a sequel to "Kingdom Hearts X" that retells the Keyblade Wars dating back to the past that's beyond the events in the first-ever "Kingdom Hearts" game, will somewhat be connected to the premise of the upcoming installment.

Up until now, it is still a mystery which Disney worlds will make it to the game. Attack of the Fan Boy believes that a glimpse of Darth Vader's universe will be exciting to see. Fans long to see "Toy Story," "Frozen" and even "Big Hero 6" in the mix.
