Cloud Strife might make an appearance in "Kingdom Hearts 3" after all. Steve Burton, the voice actor for the "Final Fantasy 7" hero, has revealed that he will take part in the upcoming action role-playing game.

Burton revealed on Twitter that he will be "doing something in a few weeks" when asked by a fan if he will be involved in "Kingdom Hearts 3." He also promised that he'll keep fans up to speed when he gets to work.

This had many believing that Cloud will somehow be in the highly anticipated "Kingdom Hearts" iteration. Burton did not elaborate on his suspected participation in "Kingdom Hearts 3" but fans are excited about what he might be up to.

Cloud has been appearing in previous "Kingdom Hearts" iterations such as the first "Kingdom Hearts," "Kingdom Hearts 2," "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" and "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories."

That being said, it won't be a surprise seeing Cloud in "Kingdom Hearts 3." His appearance in the title may even entail the inclusion of his rival, Sephiroth, who appeared in the first two "Kingdom Hearts" installments as well.

Square Enix wants to keep the upcoming title as big a surprise as possible. For a while, the talks have been all about the worlds set to be featured in "Kingdom Hearts 3" but it is only this time that the "Final Fantasy 7" protagonist and antagonist's inclusion was hinted.

As far as the worlds to be included in "Kingdom Hearts 3," the fairy-tale realm in the "Tangled" movie, the iconic San Fransokyo in "Big Hero 6" and even ancient Greece as seen in "Hercules" will be integrated into the game. Tarzan's world is rumored to be part of it as well.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura‎ has also been hinting improvements in the game's graphics as well as in the gameplay and combat department. Fans hope that in the next Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June, more footage from the game will be shown.

Fans will remember that in E3 2013, Square Enix announced "Kingdom Hearts 3" to the gaming world. This is why it is perfect that the game studio is using the event once more to deliver news about the title.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is expected to be released later this year. Some reports hint that an early 2017 launch is locked in.
