iPhone 6S release date and specs rumors: Leaks reveal detailed features of the phone

More leaks are now coming out about the iPhone 6S, and they are not exactly painting the prettiest of pictures.

First off, a recent leak coming courtesy of 9 to 5 Mac is giving people a sneak preview of what the iPhone 6S might possibly offer in terms of internal storage. According to what appears to be a leaked information sheet for the iPhone 6S, people can reportedly expect the base model of the new Apple offering to still be at 16 GB. The low starting point in terms of internal storage has long been a complaint for Apple users, and there is also a belief that the base model means the offerings will yet again fall into the 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB tiers. There is also a chance that Apple may be shifting gears and also offer a 32 GB model even if the base unit is at 16 GB.

Next up is a rumor coming courtesy of Mac Rumors and they are reporting a possible weight gain for the upcoming iPhone 6S. The possible weight gain is reportedly due to the phone's remodeled chassis, and the difference is expected to come in at around two grams. Interestingly, Apple seems intent on keeping the same weight for the iPhone 6S as with their previous releases, meaning they are reportedly looking into reducing the phone's thickness, which could be bad for its overall durability. Thinning out the already vulnerable back panel of the iPhone could make it more prone to getting damaged, which could translate to additional expenses for the owners in case they will need to have it repaired.

According to Forbes, which also reported the series of bad news for the iPhone 6S, both the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus is just less than two weeks away from being revealed.

As of now, the bits of news regarding the iPhone 6S are not official, but more details are likely coming out soon.
