"Injustice 2" is free for everyone to experience, as the developers of the game have announced a free trial of the brawling game from DC.

Developer NetherRealm Studios is being generous to fans of DC and fighting video games, as both will be given full access to all the heroes of the title starting Thursday, Dec. 14 to Monday, Dec. 18. It is important to note, though, that the free trial will only be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) players, PC players are not included.

For the console users, "Injustice 2" will open up the first three chapters of its story mode to players, while the entire multiplayer segment of the game is unlocked during the duration of the trial. This means that console players will be able to fight their friends using their favorite DC superhero or supervillain enough to make them decide whether or not they should purchase the full game once the trial period ends.

Players are advised to decide quickly though since the game will be on a 50 percent discount on the consoles for the duration of the trial as well. It will be back to its regular price afterward, but the progress that players have made on the free trial will be carried over to the full game should they choose to avail of it.

"Injustice 2" is now dubbed as the best fighting game of the year by multiple sources and has been a critical and commercial success, having a common score of 9 out of 10 or 4.5 out of 5 in major gaming review websites and critics. It follows the storyline its predecessor left off, where a rogue Superman was defeated and imprisoned by Batman. Now, the two must set aside their conflict and face a bigger threat in the form of Brainiac who seeks to collect all of Earth's knowledge before wiping out its life forms.

"Injustice 2" is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
