How a Godly Wife Helps Her Husband Come to Jesus

"The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favour from the Lord." – Proverbs 18:22

A godly wife is truly a great gift from the Lord. Many husbands who have been blessed to marry God-fearing wives know that it's such an honour, a privilege, and a great blessing to be married to a woman who truly loves God.

A Good Wife is Hard to Find, Yet Alone a Godly One

A godly wife is truly hard to find, especially in this generation where everyone is bombarded by all the fleeting things of this world: beauty, money, fame, and glory.

God-fearing women are rare and precious people, and today's men need them.

Husbands who are privileged to marry godly wives see the tremendous blessing that having a God-fearing wife brings. Here are but some ways a godly wife blesses her husband.

1. God-Fearing Wives Prioritise Jesus Higher Than the Marriage

Husbands who don't love God will find it hard to understand why their godly wives love God so much. Yet, it's a woman's love for God that allows her to love her husband, even if he's imperfect.

This kind of patient and understanding love that can only be possible through Christ's love is able to break a husband's hardened and lonely heart, and helps him turn to Christ.

"In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives." (1 Peter 3:1-2)

2. God-Fearing Wives Motivate Their Husbands to Trust God

Proverbs 21:19 says, "It is better to live in the desert than with a nagging, irritable wife."

Husbands find this to be so true. Christian wives who are not God-fearing are even worse: They profess to know God, but push the man away from Him!

God-fearing wives, on the other hand, trust God to meet their needs, and motivate their husbands to trust God, too. Instead of constantly complaining about something (unless the husbands really need to change), they will entrust the matter to God while lovingly do what needs to be done.

This is a big motivator for husbands to come and thank God for His goodness.

3. God-Fearing Wives Pray for Their Husbands

God-fearing wives never cease praying for their husbands, whatever their needs or concerns may be. This alone is a big bonus, because when the wife prays to God for her husband, she is actually inviting God to step in and do what only He can do for their marriage.

If there's one thing a wife can do that's powerful enough to touch her husband's heart even when he's doing wrong, it's surrendering him to God in prayer – and letting God do what only He can do.

A Personal Encouragement

I know these matters so well because God gave me such a wonderful, God-fearing wife. Not only is she beautiful and cute, she is also my top supporter and partner in pursuing God.

Men, if you're wives aren't God-fearing, choose to be God-fearing yourself. Don't wait for her to change before you do.

Ladies, if you feel like you're not God-fearing enough, don't be discouraged. Love God more with each moment, even if your husbands don't.
