Google has yet to fully roll out its newest Android Nougat platform. However, speculations suggest that an update is already in the works, as the Google flagships Pixel and Pixel XL will reportedly launch with Android Nougat 7.1.

According to TechnoBuffalo, a perennial leaker has already made an announcement that the Google Pixel and Pixel XL will come out with a yet-to-be-announced Android Nougat 7.1 update right out of their boxes. While Google has yet to confirm the rumors, the industry follower stated that there may be some truth to the rumors, since the detail came from a tipster associated with HTC leaks.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are said to be the rebranded 2016 Google Nexus editions, co-engineered with HTC. Since the two new flagships are expected to come out next month, an updated Android platform is quite likely. This means that Google is already hard at work in improving the new Android Nougat. Nonetheless, outside of the Nexus lineup, most third-party devices like Samsung and HTC itself will more likely update to the Android 7.0 version first. Even LG's supposed "first-ever Android Nougat to come out" flagship, the LG V20, is reported to come out only with the base Android 7.0 version.

However, BGR reports that even if the Google Pixel and Pixel XL ship out with Android Nougat 7.1, there may not be that much of a difference between the new platform and the base model. The industry observer says that based on the Android 7.1's build number, the new update is just a minor one, quite possibly patching up the different security issues that are found in the original Android 7.0 platform.

Aside from Android 7.1, the two new Google flagships are expected to come out with flagship specs. Though Google has yet to come out with official details, it is expected that the Pixel and Pixel XL will be featured with Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with at least 4GB of RAM.
