While there is definitely a lack of updates on "Frozen 2," it is believed that the plot for the sequel is already in place, although the road getting there was long.

Kristen Bell, who voices Princess Anna in the film, revealed early this month during an interview with Collider that the story for the second "Frozen" film is all good.

"The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out. That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one," Bell said.

"Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it," she went on to say.

Around that time, the "Bad Moms" star said that they were doing tweaks and slight revisions, but the production was expected to begin soon.

During her appearance at "Jimmy Kimmel Live," however, she revealed that the recording has not begun yet, but work on the script is ongoing.

In fact, she said that the writers are taking their time in order to put together a story for "Frozen 2" that will top the first one, which became one of the highest grossing animated films in history.

More than that, another aspect being considered is the soundtrack. It is definitely a pressure to follow "Let It Go," which was so huge that it is known across the globe.

The song was sang by Queen Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) when she started to accept her fate and her powers. Like the film, the song received accolades from Golden Globe Awards to Academy Awards.

Following such hugely successful film is definitely a big challenge and so with the desire of the people behind the franchise to outdo themselves, fans can hope that "Frozen 2" will live up to the expectations.

"Frozen 2" is expected to be released in 2018.
