The eagerly-anticipated Delta Aquarid meteor shower is expected to be at its peak from between July 28 all the way to the end of the month on the 31st.

That stretch would mark the time frame in which the shooting stars are expected to be at their brightest, but for those looking to catch the absolute peak of the meteor shower, they will have to secure a good viewing spot by July 28. Be sure to avoid city lights.

Viewers who will watch during that night can expect to see around 10 to 12 meteors flying by per hour, and if they are lucky, they might even get a more substantial shower with 15 to 20 in an hour going by during that evening.

As for those looking for the best time on the 28th to catch the Delta Aquarid meteor shower, they will have to get some sleep earlier in the day, because the ideal viewing period is expected to be around 2 in the very early morning, according to Earthsky.

For those who may not be able to secure a good viewing venue for the Delta Aquarid meteor shower from July 28 to 31, they can catch the livestream from the Slooh Community Observatory on those dates.

If viewers who want to catch the meteor shower are still unavailable on those dates, they can still catch a glimpse of the shooting stars all the way up to Aug. 23, though doing so past the peak period may make it more difficult for them to see the meteors as clearly.

People who will be trying to watch the Delta Aquarids meteor shower will be able to do so from all parts of the world, though watchers in the Southern Hemisphere are expected to get a more spectacular viewing experience.

Another monumental event is also expected to take place in the night time sky in July, as a blue moon is expected to appear on the 31st.
