"Dead Cells" is an action-platforming game in the vein of "Castlevania" and "Metroid," it has been in early access since May 10, 2017, but earlier on Nov. 14, developers Motion Twin announced that a big update would be coming to the game.

The announcement was posted on Nov. 14 on Motion Twin's YouTube channel. The video is less than a minute long but features a slew of new abilities, new weapons, new enemies, and brand-new levels.

Some of the abilities featured in the video were what appeared to be wall runs and power jumps that could break through platforms. The featured weapons included bows and arrows, dual blades, and what appeared to be some sort of weapon that spewed out fire. The enemies featured ranged from smaller foes to larger ones. As of yet, the trailer does not reveal any details of the featured enemies or weapons.

However, Motion Twin states that next update is going to be a brutal one.

According to EuroGamer, one of the notable changes is the new Brutal System. Before this was implemented players had to upgrade their health, skills, and strength. This system was removed and in the all-new Brutal System, players merely have to upgrade Brutality, a skill that improves upon weapon precision, and how effective a player's skills and weapons are.

Reportedly, this change will allow players to be more versatile in terms of what kind of fighting style they want to apply to the game and how they want to engage foes in combat.

"Dead Cell's" reveal trailer was first uploaded to Motion Twin's YouTube channel on Jan 19.

A shorty video barely over 30 seconds, the trailer gives players a glimpse of the game's fighting mechanics. "Dead Cells" is currently in early access on Steam, and is available for purchase alongside its OST.
