Christian Singer Britt Nicole Shares Meaning Behind Her Song 'All This Time'
Grammy-nominated Christian singer Britt Nicole is baring her heart and soul in her latest self-titled album, with each song telling a chapter in her life when God helped her in conquering or getting over certain problems.
One of the tracks in the album is titled "All This Time." Nicole shared in a video for the World's Biggest Small Group that the song is about her parents' painful divorce when she was only seven years old.
Nicole said despite the pain she felt seeing her family get torn apart by the divorce, she has God's love to thank for helping her overcome feelings of fear and confusion.
Even as she grew up, Nicole admitted that being a part of a broken family really scarred her. But when she turned 17, God spoke to her through the Bible verse 1 Chronicles 28:20. It reads, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you..."
Nicole said the verse is a reminder that God never left her side. She knew that even while she was still inside her mother's womb, God already loved her and made great plans for her.
"Whatever you're facing, that is the truth —God is with you. You might look at yourself, you might look at your circumstances and say, 'This is it. I'm going to be here forever. There's no way that God can use me now, or there's no way I'll ever come out of this,'" she said.
But Nicole said it does not matter whatever people have gone through, since God is walking with them every step of the way. "What I love about God is that He uses us even in our most broken places. It is when we are most weak that He is most strong," she said.
So for those who are struggling with personal issues, health concerns, and relationship woes, Nicole is telling them not to fret. "God is going to use you, God is going to use your story, and it's going to be beautiful," the singer assured.
