Chicago Bulls injury, roster rumors 2016: Derrick Rose injured again in defeat to Bucks

A sad tale for Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose as he again suffered another injury in their third consecutive defeat falling to the Milwaukee Bucks on the road Tuesday.

According to ESPN, Rose left in the fourth quarter of the game after suffering a left patellar tendonitis.

The former Most Valuable Player (MVP) played 22 minutes versus the Bucks, tallying nine points, one rebound, three assists, and one steal, before leaving.

"Just felt something with my left knee, like jumper's knee or something like that," Rose said following the game versus Milwaukee.

"It just didn't feel right while I was out there. Just got to be cautious with my body," he added.

ESPN and the Chicago Tribune reported that Rose was unaware if a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was scheduled for the injury.

A health setback is not new for Rose nor a big issue for Chicago, since in the past few seasons, the former first overall pick (2008) has been banged up a number of times by injuries which made him miss many games.

This season, the 27-year-old franchise star already missed five regular season games, but has already played in 32, just 19 games away from his total last season which was 51.

The only concern for Rose is the decrease in his numbers, as he is averaging 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 32.6 minutes of action.

Rose's 14.7 points a game is a career-low for him, worse than his scoring average during the 2013–14 season in which he was limited to only 10 games due to injury and was scoring 15.9 points a game.

ESPN lists Rose as day-to-day and is questionable when the Bulls take on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center today, Thursday, to continue a two-game road trip.

The Bulls are currently third in the Eastern Conference standings with a 22–15 record despite the three-game losing streak, just 5.5 games behind the leading Cleveland Cavaliers who are at 27–9.
