Castle Season 8 release date, plot news: Castle and Beckett to call it quits?

Will Castle and Beckett breakup in the season 8 of "Castle?" ABC

Fans are in a rampage over the reported end of the Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) love story in the eight season of ABC's "Castle."

TV Line issued on Tuesday the new blind item of the supposed split, saying: "The breakup of a certain couple will go down as one of the, if not the, most polarizing events of the 2015-16 season." It added that the breakup "will piss off a lot of people."

The website referred to the "Ask Ausiello" column, the notorious source of spoilers, while giving three hints to help fans figure out the whole riddle.

"The fandom-shattering split is slated to air in early fall. The show in question airs on one of the Big Five broadcast networks. It's a one-hour drama."

The original teaser from "Ask Ausiello" spoke more of the separation's impact on the followers of the series in question. "I just received a piece of 2015-16 TV season intel that is going to leave a certain fandom shaken, stirred and seriously pissed off."

Fans have aired their growing fear about an impending Castle-Beckett breakup, especially after the release of spoilers that the best-selling mystery novelist would be spending "a lot of time, plenty of time" with a new series character known as Hayley, according to Latin Post. Haley is described as "a quick-witted, free-spirited former LAPD cop" who will be working as a security specialist.

New Producer Alexi Hawley previously told TV Line that fans would get to see more of Castle and Beckett on Season 8.

"Fundamentally, Beckett and Castle's relationship has room to have movement in it. So for me, and I can't speak for Terence, we're just excited to go in there and see what the future holds."

Season Eight of "Castle" premieres September 21 on ABC.
