A mini-reunion involving "Saturday Night Live" cast members will happen when "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returns for season 4 on FOX this fall.

Andy Samberg will be reunited with his "Saturday Night Live" castmate Maya Rudolph after the comedienne was tapped for a multi-episode appearance in the fourth season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

According to TVLine, Rudolph will portray the role of a U.S. Marshal who will serve as the official liaison of Jake Peralta (Samberg) and his boss, Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), while they stay in the Witness Protection Program.

The report said that Rudolph's character will be the only contact of Jake and Holt in their usual lives.

Jake and Holt had to be placed in the Witness Protection Program in the sunny state of Florida to save their lives from mob leader Jimmy "The Butcher" Figgis. This means that they have to be away from the rest of the officers from the NYPD 99th Precinct at the start of the upcoming season.

But according to an interview with series co-creator Dan Goor by Entertainment Weekly, both Jake and Holt might have to spend more time isolated in Florida in season 4.

"We plan on spending some time there," Goor stated. He also mentioned that the duo could have a chance to learn more about each other, "where they're going to have to live in this situation for a little while."

The series co-creator also revealed the possibility of fans seeing Detective Adrian Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas) when the comedy series returns next season.

"We can assume we will see the return of Pimento," Goor said. "That's just a question of when the writers get together and also [the] availability of Mantzoukas. We love Mantzoukas, and I think he had a really good time on the show, and he will definitely be coming back."

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 4 premieres on FOX on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
