In a world full of mythical and comicbook superheroes, we will all agree that not one of them is enough. While they sure have powers, they also have weaknesses and limitations that make them imperfect.

In battles with their enemies, some of them even need to call on other superheroes to come help them out. 

There's one Hero, however, who is perfect and is enough for all that we need. His name is Jesus Christ.

More than just a superhero

Jesus Christ is more than just a superhero. He's more than just "super," actually. He is the Alpha and the Omega, and everything created in the universe was created by Him and for Him. Yet, despite His immense and immeasurable greatness, He is good and kind, with no darkness in Him.

Would you want to know why He is far better than any other superhero? Here are some reasons why.

1) He is real

Unlike comicbook and fantasy superheroes, Jesus Christ is not a figment of anyone's imagination. He is in fact, so real, that the calendar years have been divided because of His coming. Ever noticed the "B.C." and the "A.D." in relation to calendar years? That's what I meant.

Comicbook superheroes are only real as far as the comic goes. Same goes for movie heroes. Jesus, however, is real, and all of creation attests to it.

"...for in Him we live and move and have our being..." (Acts 17:28)

2) He is sinless

Unlike comicbook heroes we watch in the movies and in Netflix today, Jesus is sinless. He has committed no sin, nor did He ever succumb to any temptation – even if it meant having no food to eat.

Christ's sinlessness made Him the perfect sacrifice, the only one capable of destroying sin and death and saving the whole of humanity. His death was because of our faults, yet His resurrection gives us life.

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

3) He is personal

Comicbook superheroes will always have fans, but only Jesus Christ will have a relationship with any of His followers. Think about that.

Those who say they have "relationships" with comicbook or movie heroes only have it in their minds. Those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ, however, have it in their lives.

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27)

4) He eternally saved us from sin and death

Superheroes in comics and movies can only save people from troubles, but cannot save them from sin and death. Only Christ Jesus is able to do that, once and for all.

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit." (1 Peter 3:18)

5) He can make us like Him

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman. All of them, and many others, might have wonderful powers and abilities, but they cannot make us like them.

In fact, I wouldn't even want to be like them.

Jesus Christ, however, can and wants to make us like Him. He wants us to have His character, His obedience to the Father, and His love for people. And He is totally committed to doing that, far more than what we can ever comprehend.

"...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)
