While South Korean company Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd is preparing to unveil its new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus along with its Gear A smartwatch this Aug. 12, Chinese company ZTE Corporation is preparing to release its own new smartwatch called the Axon Watch.

The ZTE Axon Watch was unveiled last week along with a new smartphone called the Axon Lux, which came with high-end specifications. Here are the differences between Samsung's Gear A and ZTE's Axon Watch devices in terms of the specs.

The Samsung Gear A smartwatch will sport a round Super AMOLED display screen with a 360 x 360 resolution and will run on the new Tizen operating system (OS) for wearables. On the other hand, ZTE's new Axon Watch will have a round 1.4-inch display screen with a 400 x 400 resolution, and will use the recently released Tencent OS, according to recent reports.

Inside, the Gear A is rumored to pack Samsung's own Exynos 3472 processor, 768MB RAM, and 4GB internal memory. Meanwhile, the ZTE Axon Watch will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 processor and will have 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory as well.

The Axon Watch is expected to come with a large 300 mAh battery, while Samsung's smartwatch is speculated to have a smaller 250 mAh battery. Both smartwatches also include other features such as accelerometers, barometers, and heart rate sensors.

It was recently revealed that ZTE might be planning to launch its new smartwatch product exclusively for the China market. For Samsung's Gear A, it is expected to be unveiled by next month and will be launched in September, according to an earlier report by the Franchise Herald.

The report by Franchise Herald also suggested that the South Korean giant might be planning to launch the new smartwatch alongside another variant that will support 3G connectivity, although this has not been confirmed yet.
