As if the iPhone 6 does not have many rivals already, Xiaomi Mi 4 wants to jump in the ring of smartphone battle hoping to take down the famous Apple's flagship phone.

Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi launched its own flagship smartphone, Mi 4, in an elaborate event in Beijing where the company's chief executive announced that it aimed to challenge the upcoming iPhone 6.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun strategically attacked iPhone 6 by comparing the design and manufacturing process of the Mi 4 against the Apple smartphone. "Our product really is better than the iPhone. Our white version is also better than their white version. Even our white color is whiter!" the chief exec said.

The Mi 4 features a 5-inch full-HD screen, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 16GB of 64GB of internal memory. The device will also run Xiaomi's custom MIUI operating system, which is a skinned version of Android operating system. The mobiles software also allows for more customization and that removes the Android app drawer in favor of putting all the programs on the home screen, similar to what iPhones offered.

The Xiaomi Mi 4 will be available July 29 for 1999 yuan or $320, which is almost half of the price of iPhone 5S that costs $650. It is expected that the smartphone will be a great success in China. However, there is no word yet if the smartphone will reach the western shores, especially in the US.

Meanwhile, the Chinese company offers an equally brilliant smartphone cheapest in the list is the new Xiaomi Mi3 that has a 5-inch 1080p IPS display that is powered by the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It seems that the specs and features of the smartphone are identical to the Google Nexus 5. Do not be surprise but the handset just costs $250.
