WWE SummerSlam 2015 latest news, rumors: Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton instead?

To this day, word has it that Seth Rollins will come out the victor of the upcoming fatal four-way match involving him, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Earlier plans had Rollins hanging on to the WWE title until SummerSlam where Brock Lesnar is expected to make a return.

But now new rumors are abuzz that it could be Orton who may come out with the win over the former Shield members. And if that holds true, would it signal a different kind of main event which would now feature Orton vs. Lesnar?

If this would be the path that the WWE would be headed, could it mean that the Lesnar-Rollins storyline is dead?

Lesnar and Orton have a history and a matchup between the two WWE superstars would certainly be more appealing compared to a Seth Rollins angle.

There is no question that Rollins doesn't stand a chance against Lesnar in the ring while Orton obviously carries a lot more of repertoire which should somehow stand up to the power that Lesnar brings to the ring.

Lesnar and Orton have faced off in the past, to be precise in 2002. At that time, Lesnar was the youngest WWE champion while Orton was working his way onto the WWE ladder. It will be recalled that he joined the Evolution stable with Triple H, Batista, and Ric Flair which helped him attain superstar status.

One on one, Lesnar defeated Orton back then. But if they are to face off at WWE SummerSlam, it could be a different story. Lesnar could still come out on top but it surely will not be easy. But between Orton and Rollins, the Viper obviously boasts of more moves that could be more of a match to the Beast Incarnate.

So will it be Lesnar vs. Rollins or Lesnar vs. Orton? All that should be known after WWE Payback so don't miss it!
